A recent article in the online journal <a href=" Dear As a wellness professional, you're well aware that exercise is a key factor in wellness - but sometimes exercise is not that easy for your patients. I recently wrote to you about the Vibetronix Whole Body Vibration System as an addition to your practice - one that can benefit the majority of your patients and become an additional profit centre. You may not have heard of whole body vibration before - many wellness professionals are just beginning to discover this technology, and many are using it successfully with their patients and for themselves. Whole Body Vibration exercise is featured on the Canadian Chiropractor web site (http://www.canadianchiropractor.ca/content/view/1221/67/) For your convenience, I've included a print out of he article, Vibration Exercise Therapy - Overview of rationale efficacy and safety considerations by Dr. Jaspar Sidhu D.C. with this letter. Whole Body Vibration has been extensively studied during the past few decades since it emerged from the shroud of mystery where it was hidden under Soviet rule. Russian scientists originally developed the technology for their top level athletes. It was then discovered that applying whole body vibration prevented - even reversed - loss of bone density and muscle mass, which made it ideal for use by cosmonauts exposed to zero gravity. Once the cold war ended, the Berlin wall came down and relations between Russia and the rest of the world became more open, it wasn't long before this technology was identified by NASA and tested for use with their astronauts. Thereafter, it was quickly adopted by Olympic and professional sports teams and universities. At that time, the technology was far too expensive for use by 'regular' people. But that has all changed and whole body vibration has become virtually main stream. Although it is still used by Olympic teams, sports teams and universities, it's now also used by many wellness professionals, personal trainers and personally by many people in their homes. It has been found to be beneficial as an exercise, speeding up the process by 4 or 5 times. Paul Gagne, a professional sports trainer in Montreal actually measured the effect of using WBV in conjunction with regular exercise and was stunned to discover that it accelerated the effect exponentially. He measured the effect using an electromyography reader which indicated a sharp increase in muscle recruitment and energy - triple to quadruple the amount measured during regular exercise alone. He wasted no time in introducing his professional hockey athletes to whole body vibration. Besides the basic effects of accelerated exercise, there are many intangible effects which are equally, if not more important. If you have patients suffering from: - osteoporosis, osteo arthritis or similar aliments - joint pain - injury related stiffness / pain - age related loss of flexibility, mobility, balance then whole body vibration could open a new world of better health and wellness and quality of life. Still more of your patients may benefit from: - lowering of high blood pressure, cholesterol and cortisol - improvement in peripheral neuropathy Whole body vibration exercise has been known to help people with Parkinson's disease, lymphodema, rheumatoid arthritis. It is also used extensively for rehabilitation after injuries and surgeries. In fact, it has cited as being instrumental in reconfiguring neural pathways in the brain - resetting these to eliminate pathways built as a result of injury. With the stimulation of the production of seratonin and endorphins, it also helps to elevate mood and disposition. Your practice is centered around helping your patients enjoy a better quality of life. Whole body vibration will take that commitment to a new level of service. With over 30 health benefits, it is certainly worth considering incorporating it into your practice. I'd love an opportunity to tell you more about how you can achieve this. With customers ranging from health professionals just like you to fitness organizations, we've discovered that the need, and the demand for whole body vibration is growing daily. Please call me and I'll explain how other health professionals are adding to their revenues, increasing the frequency and consistency of patient visits and even earning sizable commissions when patients wish to purchase their own whole body vibration platforms for home use. Whole body vibration is the perfect profitable complement to your practice, but, even if you decide that it's not for you right now, after examining the technology, you'll be in a position to advise your patients when they ask you about it. I will be calling your office to find out when would be a good time for a demonstration. Please won't you let your receptionist know to expect my call? Of course, if you'd like to set a time right now, while you have my details handily, please call me on 604.852.3555. Looking forward to chatting with you! Robert Cooper Vibetronix Whole Body Vibration P.S. In the meantime, feel free to take a look at the information on our site: http://vibetronix.com. You'll find videos, articles and studies which you may find interesting throughout the rest of the site. Then call me to arrange to experience this for yourself.
Dr. Jaspar Sidhu D.C. has provided some insights into the world of whole body vibration from a wellness professional’s perspective. According to Sidhu, “With its many benefits for the patient population, it’s no surprise that vibration exercise therapy is one of the fastest growing modalities in the chiropractic and physiotherapy profession.”

Sidhu’s article cites the following as some of benefits of whole body vibration exercise as:

Faster strength gains through neurological adaption

Shorter training times per session

Patient populations that have been shown to benefit include those suffering from multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, spinal cord injury, osteoporosis, and Parkinson’s Disease, to name a few

my mother just found out she has osteoporosis, pretty bad apparently, in her hip. shes only 64. and the doctor says well whatever you do, do not fall! he siad methods for treatin git are taking this awful awful prescription med, or doing 100 jumps a day. she is not keen on either of these. waht are some alternatives to medication that can help my mummy with her bones?

There are other meds, like things you take once a week or less often, that can actually rebuild the bone a bit. She should definitely be taking calcium and eating a good diet. Any sort of weight-bearing exercise would be good, like lifting weights or using resistance bands. (At 64, she might feel that her knees are not up to the jumps!) Walking and dancing can be good, as can most yoga–I don’t think she wants to do the very twisty poses. She certainly doesn’t want to fall and should be doing something for her balance–tai chi, yoga, or just things like trying to stand on one foot, then trying to stand on one foot with her eyes closed, etc.

Is there a local senior center? They often have appropriate classes. It would be worth hiring a personal trainer for a session or two if you could find one who is sympathetic and knowledgeable.

The best thing you can do for your mum is to find an exercise program and do it with her–your own bones will thank you for it!

She’s also trying to find some sort of vitamin or supplement that would have calcium, vitamin D, Boron, Mangesium, and/or other components that help protect bone mass. If you know of any or can give any tips, please let me know!

those are all good but D3 is better than D.
I take hylaronic acid too. Walmart sells it in the vitamin aisle.
Omega fatty acid is also good.
antioxidents, ginkgo, C, E, zinc and selenium are also good.
